Morning routine…..wake up; try to avoid stepping on our dog as I get out of bed; get the morning coffee; read favorites on Go Comics and now that I am awake, read the latest from Oliver Bateman. Life is good!

Great straight talk on writing! Wow--it's cleared the cobwebs.

Especially this: "The quality of his [professional writer] work varies, but the quantity never falters." This is a good reason to kick perfectionism, my perennial demon, to the curb.

If you're an NCIS fan, I feel like I've just been slapped on the back of my head by Gibbs 😄.

former Supreme Court justice Benjamin Cardozo put it very well: "In truth, I am nothing but a plodding mediocrity—please observe, a plodding mediocrity—for a mere mediocrity does not go very far, but a plodding one gets quite a distance. There is joy in that success, and a distinction can come from courage, fidelity and industry."
